The Oceana County Sheriff's Office uses VINELink, a service that helps crime victims, witnesses, and other interested parties track the custody status of offenders in Michigan. To find an inmate, follow these steps:
Step 1: Access the Oceana County Sheriff's Office Website
- Visit the official website of the Oceana County Sheriff's Office.
- Locate and click on the "Inmate Search" link under the "Inmate Information" section on the homepage.
Step 2: Use the Inmate Search Tool
- On the Inmate Search page, locate and click on the "Inmate Kiosk Search" link.
- You will be redirected to the VINELink website, the official inmate search tool for Oceana County.
- On the VINELink homepage, select the "Inmate Locator" option from the main menu.
- Enter one of the following types of information into the search fields provided:
Step 3: Search for the Inmate
- First and last name of the inmate
- Oceana County Jail inmate ID number
- Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) number
- Date of birth
Make sure to enter the information correctly and click on the "Search" button.
Step 4: View the Inmate's Information
- If the inmate is currently in custody, their information will be displayed on the screen.
- The inmate's information may include their full name, date of birth, booking date, charges, housing unit, and release date (if available).
- You can also view the inmate's mugshot and track their custody status over time.
